The 12 Rashis
Fire — Aries, Leo & Sagittarius
Initiative, self-expression, and conviction — one movable, one fixed, one dual.
The three fire signs
Aries (Mesha) — movable fire, ruled by Mars
The first sign, and the zodiac's starting gun. Symbol: the ram. Lord: Mars.
Movable fire is pure initiation — it goes first, acts before deliberating, and would rather begin ten things than finish one. A planet in Aries gets directness and speed, and loses patience.
Leo (Simha) — fixed fire, ruled by the Sun
Symbol: the lion. Lord: the Sun — the only sign the Sun owns.
Fixed fire doesn't start the flame, it sustains it. Leo holds a position, and does it visibly: dignity, authority, performance, loyalty to what it has claimed. A planet in Leo gains confidence and a need to be seen.
Sagittarius (Dhanu) — dual fire, ruled by Jupiter
Symbol: the archer (often a centaur). Lord: Jupiter.
Dual fire aims at something beyond itself — meaning, doctrine, distance. Sagittarius is the teacher and traveller of the zodiac: conviction pointed outward. A planet here gains breadth, principle, and restlessness for the far thing.
Remember it
Aries lights it, Leo holds it up, Sagittarius aims it somewhere. Same element, three jobs — exactly the movable / fixed / dual pattern you just learned.
