What is Jyotish?

Jyotish, often called Vedic astrology, is the traditional Indian system of astronomy and astrology. It uses the sidereal zodiac, which is fixed against the stars, rather than the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology.

No. The path begins at absolute beginner and builds up one concept at a time. A short placement quiz can also start you further along if you already know some of the fundamentals.

VedicStars Gurukul teaches you to read a chart yourself rather than handing you a prediction. Chart math is computed deterministically from a real ephemeris, classical references are cited rather than invented, and the framing is symbolic — tendencies and timing, never fatalism.

Is the chart math accurate?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every chart is a deterministic function of birth time, location, and ayanamsa, computed with the Swiss Ephemeris. The default ayanamsa is Pushya-paksha. No astrology is ever generated by a language model.

Each node on the skill map is a short lesson followed by a quiz. You unlock the next node only by passing the quiz at the mastery threshold, so you never advance on a topic you have not actually learned.
