The 12 Rashis
Air — Gemini, Libra & Aquarius
Exchange, balance, and abstraction.
The three air signs
Gemini (Mithuna) — dual air, ruled by Mercury
Symbol: the couple, classically a pair holding a lute and a mace. Lord: Mercury.
Dual air is the zodiac's switchboard: talk, curiosity, information, many things at once. Gemini collects and relays rather than settling. A planet here gains quickness and versatility, and scatters easily.
Libra (Tula) — movable air, ruled by Venus
Symbol: the scales — the only inanimate symbol in the zodiac. Lord: Venus.
Movable air initiates relationship: it weighs, compares, negotiates, and moves toward the other person. Libra is where balance is actively sought, not passively held. A planet here gains diplomacy and a strong sense of fairness, and can stall in weighing.
Aquarius (Kumbha) — fixed air, ruled by Saturn
Symbol: the water-pot (the pot, not the water — Aquarius is an air sign). Lord: Saturn.
Fixed air holds a principle: systems, collectives, ideas that don't bend to convenience. Aquarius is the sign of the group and the long abstraction. A planet here gains detachment and conviction, and can hold a position past the point of usefulness.
Remember it
Gemini passes it on, Libra weighs it, Aquarius makes a system of it. And the classic trap: Aquarius is air, not water — the symbol is the pot that carries it.
