Seven rungs from exalted to debilitated — and what they actually mean.

The same graha, very different results

Saturn is always Saturn — time, discipline, limits. But Saturn in Libra and Saturn in Aries do not read alike. In Libra it is exalted and its discipline lands as fair, structural judgement. In Aries it is debilitated and the same discipline lands as friction and delay.

The placement didn't change what Saturn is. It changed how comfortably Saturn can act. That comfort is called dignity.

The ladder, top to bottom

What the app shows you

One honest note. The dignity badge on your charts in this app shows a four-way summary — exalted, own, debilitated, or neutral — rather than all seven rungs. Friendship and moolatrikona are real and classical, and you should know them; the badge just collapses them into "neutral" rather than pretending to a precision it isn't computing.

When you need the finer read, you work it out yourself. That's what this chapter is for.

Strength ≠ good

Read this rung carefully, because it is the most-abused idea in popular astrology.

Dignity says how strongly and freely a graha acts — not whether the result is pleasant. An exalted malefic acts powerfully in its malefic way. A debilitated benefic still tries to help, just with less reach.

Dignity is a weighting, applied to a tendency. It is never, on its own, a prediction.

Remember it

Exalted, moolatrikona, own, friend, neutral, enemy, debilitated. Top three = acts freely. Bottom one = acts against the grain. Everything between is ordinary.
