Neecha Bhanga — Cancelled Debilitation

When a fallen graha's weakness is undone, and the fall becomes the making.

Debilitation, recapped

A debilitated (neecha) graha sits in the sign opposite its exaltation — Saturn in Aries, Jupiter in Capricorn, the Moon in Scorpio, and so on. It works against the grain: harder effort, less immediate return.

Neecha Bhanga means the breaking of the fall. Under certain conditions that handicap is cancelled.

The cancellation this app checks

The classics list several cancellation clauses; the one computed here is the most commonly cited:

> A graha is debilitated, and the lord of the sign it is debilitated in sits in a kendra (1/4/7/10) — counted either from the Lagna or from the Moon.

Worked through: Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn. Capricorn's lord is Saturn. If Saturn sits in a kendra from the lagna or from the Moon, Jupiter's debilitation is cancelled.

The intuition: the graha that owns the difficult ground is itself strongly placed, so it can lift its guest.

Why it's called a Raja yoga

It's **Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga — the cancellation isn't treated as a mere return to neutral. Classically the graha is read as unusually effective**, because the pattern describes a capacity built out of an early disadvantage rather than in the absence of one.

The fall isn't erased from the story. It becomes the part of the story that produced the strength.

Read it carefully

Two honest cautions.

First, traditions differ on the cancellation clauses — some add the exaltation lord in a kendra, the debilitated graha aspected by its dispositor, and more. This app implements one clause consistently. A book that disagrees isn't necessarily wrong; it's using a different clause set.

Second, a cancelled debilitation is still a debilitation with a story attached. It doesn't convert to exaltation, and it doesn't promise the difficulty was painless.

Who owns the sign my graha fell into — and is that owner standing in a kendra? If yes, the fall is broken. Kendras counted from the Lagna or the Moon.
