Jaimini Essentials: Karakas & Arudhas · Gurukul Plus

Chara Karakas

Eight roles, handed out by how far each graha has travelled through its sign.

This chapter is part of Gurukul Plus

The foundational curriculum — grahas, rashis, bhavas, nakshatras, dashas and how to read a chart with them — is free to read here and free to practise in the app. Jaimini Essentials: Karakas & Arudhas is one of the advanced chapters, and its teaching text comes with Plus.

Plus is ₹199 a month, or ₹1,999 a year. It opens every advanced chapter and raises your saved charts from one to four, so you can work on family charts alongside your own. Both plans renew until you cancel, and cancelling takes one click.

Writing up your experience in the community earns Plus days too — see the subreddit.

Chara karakas: Roles assigned per chart by degree within the sign. The graha furthest through its sign is the Atmakaraka; Rahu is counted backwards.
The karaka order and its variants: The app's eight slots run AK, AmK, BK, MK, PiK, PK, GnK, DK. A seven-karaka scheme drops Rahu and the Pitrukaraka slot.
Reading Jaimini points without over-reading: Each point is one witness. Count agreement across both systems, flag fragile assignments, and never read looks, dates or verdicts from a single karaka.
