Pratyantardasha as the fine trigger: Event-level timing tends to need the maha, antar and pratyantar lords all connected to the matter. The pratyantar picks the months.
Dasha sandhi: The junction where one period hands over to the next, commonly felt as transition. Its width is a matter of tradition; the app does not compute one.
How exact the dates really are: Birth-time error, ayanamsa and year-length conventions all shift dasha dates, which is why timing is given as windows.
